Deb Serrano
About Deb Serrano
Born in Brazil and living in the United States for nearly 15 years, Deb has built her career around leadership, operations, sales, and creating structured, high-performance environments. Her journey in Jiu Jitsu began in 2016, not as a competitor, but as a practitioner and someone deeply involved in the daily operations and growth of martial arts academies.
Now a brown belt, Deb has spent the past eight years working in the management of Jiu Jitsu schools, overseeing operations and helping shape the culture that exists beyond the mats.
Jiu Jitsu has always been more than a personal practice for her. It has become a professional path built on discipline, responsibility, and consistency.
In this new chapter, Deb works alongside her husband, Jhonny Loureiro, as part of the leadership and management team of the academy. Her focus is on building a space that is safe for all ages, structured, and transparent in everything they do. She is passionate about creating an environment where families feel comfortable, students feel supported, and expectations are clear.
Deb and Jhonny are also committed to building a strong sense of community, creating a place where people are not simply training together, but growing together.
Respect, accountability, and shared values are at the center of the culture they are building.
Deb believes that a great academy is defined by more than the quality of its technique. It is defined by the quality of the environment it creates and its ability to give people the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
